100 Uses For The Top 10 Oils
So, you have just received your Home Essentials kit, or your Essential Collection kit, and you’re wondering “now what?”
First step…OPEN YOUR BOTTLES!! Put them in a place where you will see them every single day. Keeping them in a cupboard turns into “out of sight, out of mind” and these oils deserve love, respect and USE!
Second step…read this list! Below are 100 uses for the Top 10 Oils (that would be all the goodness you received in your enrolment kit, if you got one of the ones mentioned above).
Third step…join Facebook groups, follow Instagram accounts, reach out to the person who enrolled you and get ideas on how others use the oils in their everyday routines!!

Lemon
*Diffuse with lavender and peppermint when the seasonal threats have you down
*Mix 5-6 drops of lemon with water in an 8oz glass spray bottle. Use to clean all of your counters, tables, and appliances
*For a drippy nose, inhale from cupped hands, or apply to bridge of nose
*Rub over chest and diffuse to relieve the tight, full feeling
*Add a drop of lemon whenever cooking with lemon juice for a deeper, more rich flavour
*Add one drop of lemon to your glass of water for an internal cleanse.
*To remove the funky smell from your kitchen washcloth, add lemon oil to a small bowl of water, and soak the cloth overnight. Wash and dry as normal and your nose will thank you!
*Get rid of those poorly placed stickers on picture frames – or anywhere really. Just put a drop directly on the sticky mark and the lemon will dissolve it
*Use lemon oil to remove grease from your cupboards and backsplash
*One drop of lemon will help to remove your child’s temporary tattoo if it is on it’s last days and just looks like dirt
Lavender
*Apply under nose, to bottoms of feet and diffuse for a restful nights sleep
*Stop grinding your teeth by applying to the back of your neck and inhaling from cupped hands
*Ease anxious feelings by applying over the heart
*Soothe your skin after a long day in the sun by mixing two drops of lavender with eight drops of fractionated coconut oil and applying to areas that need extra love
*Calm your baby by massaging one drop of lavender in a teaspoon of Fractionated Coconut Oil (FCO) along the spine, abdomen and on the bottoms of feet
*Clean minor cuts and wounds by applying lavender around an open wound. Once healed, apply lavender over wound to minimize scarring (**Minor wounds only! Seek medical help for major wounds)
*Stop scratching pesky bug bites! Apply one drop of lavender to a bug bites to stop the itch
*Apply across bridge of nose and around eyes to help stop nosebleeds
*Mix with your favourite facial moisturizer for glowing skin
*Mix with frankincense and peppermint to help ease head tension
*Add 10 drops of lavender to your dōTERRA shampoo to help promote hair growth
*Mix five drops of lavender to a 10mL roller bottle and fill up with FCO. Roll on your teething baby’s jawline to ease the discomfort so everyone can sleep at night
*Place two drops of lavender on your pillow at night to help keep you in sleepy land until morning
*Add three drops to your favourite mascara to help those lashes grow
Peppermint
*Apply to temples, back of neck and forehead to release head tension
*Gargle a drop of peppermint in 4oz of water to kill dragon breath
*Apply 1-2 drops diluted with FCO to breasts to help decrease milk supply
*Apply over abdomen to ease digestive discomfort
*Inhale or apply to back of neck for a quick wakeup in the morning or during long car rides
*Apply down spine, back of neck and bottoms of feet to help cool down your body on a hot day
*Apply 2-3 drops mixed with 6-8 drops of FCO to sun-kissed skin…you can mix it with your lavender for extra relief
*Add 3-4 drops to your chocolate brownie mix for an extra special treat
*Use one drop of peppermint and one drop of lavender for a tension releasing neck massage
*Mix 5-10 drops of peppermint in a spray bottle with water and spray around your windows and doors to keep ants and spiders outside where they belong
*Put one drop of peppermint in the palm of your hand, dip your finger in it and rub on the roof of your mouth for some seriously fresh breath
Oregano
*Take internally in a veggie capsule to help kick anything gross that is starting
*Gargle one drop in 4oz of water for sore throat support
*Swap out the dried oregano and replace with one drop for spaghetti or pizza sauce
*Mix three drops of oregano with water in an 8oz glass spray bottle. Spray in the corners of your shower, sink and any other damp area
*Dilute one drop of oregano with 8-10 drops of FCO and massage into hands and feet for a quick warm up
*Apply diluted with a drop of tea tree for clean feet, soft cuticles and to smooth out rough spots
*Make a roller of FLOOT to support your immune system. Mix five drops of oregano, 10 drops of frankincense, 10 drops of lemon, 10 drops of On Guard, and 10 drops of tea tree in a 10mL roller bottle and fill up with FCO
Frankincense
*Apply to wounds or wrinkles to support skin regeneration
*Help reduce inflammation by applying over affected area
*Apply to bottoms of feet or take 1-2 drops in a capsule with olive oil to support your immune system and support cellular health
*Diffuse or rub under your nose to lift your spirits
*Inhale with lavender and peppermint to ease feelings of tension
*Apply 1-2 drops to your temples and back of neck to regain focus
*Strengthen weak nails by mixing one drop of frankincense with five drops of Argan oil and massage into nails and cuticles
*Use with a cold compress after working out to cool down and relax. Or use with a hot compress to soothe aching and tired muscles
*Apply to skin imperfections to help reduce their appearance
*Apply to bottoms of feet to feel relaxed
*Use frankincense to help ease anxious feelings. Mix with peppermint and inhale from cupped hands for a mid-afternoon pick me up!
*Rub a drop or two on your hands after a long day of gardening, cleaning the house, yard or garage. Massage into skin to promote a natural inflammatory response
Tea Tree
*Use to clean minor cuts and wounds
*Apply to abdomen to ease discomfort
*Mix 5 drops Tea Tree with 1/2 cup of baking soda. Pour into your toilet and follow with 1 cup of white vinegar. Once the fizzing stops, give it a good scrub
*Keep your hair clean by adding 10 drops to your every day shampoo bottle
*When flying, apply behind ears before take off and landing to help ease ear tension. Use behind the ears for teething babies for a similar effect
*Apply after shaving to help relieve razor burn and skin irritations
*Use 8-10 drops in an 8oz glass spray bottle with water for a multi surface cleaner
*Combine one drop of tea tree with one drop of On Guard and rub on the bottom of your feet for immune support
*Apply tea tree and coconut oil to soothe minor skin irritations
On Guard (Protective Blend)
*Put two drops in a veggie capsule with olive oil and diffuse for seasonal immune support
*Apply to bottoms of feet when you aren’t feeling your best
*Gargle with warm water and a drop of lemon and swallow to support an uncomfortable throat
*Apply to chest to ease heaviness
*Apply 1 drop of On Guard with 3-4 drops of FCO to protect minor wounds
*Gargle with water to support oral health
*Apply to lower abdomen to help with urinary tract discomfort
*Clean your family’s toothbrushes by putting 2-4 drops of On Guard in a glass of water and soak your toothbrushes upside down over night
*Make your own on the go hand gel by mixing five tablespoons of aloe vera gel, four tablespoons of water, 1/4 teaspoon of vitamin E oil and 8-10 drops of On Guard. Store in a small squeeze bottle to keep in your purse, diaper bag or car
*Mix a few drops of On Guard with water in a spray bottle and spray on dirty doorknobs, railings, and counter tops. Use in a travel size mister bottle to spray those yucky public toilets as well
Deep Blue (Soothing Blend)
*Rub on muscles and joints before you work out to reduce discomfort
*Rub on lower back after a day of heavy lifting, cleaning or a long car ride
*Mix one drop of Deep Blue with 8-10 drops of FCO and massage into your growing child’s legs, because growing pains are a pain
*Rub Deep Blue on your neck and shoulders to release the tension of sitting at your computer all day at work
*Mix one drop of Deep Blue with one drop of peppermint and rub on the back of your neck and temples to release head tension

*Apply to bruises and injuries to help reduce inflammation
*Mix 2-4 drops with 1/2 cup of epsom salts and add to a hot bath for a relaxing soak
*Layer Deep Blue & Frankincense to ease back discomfort
Easy Air (Respiratory Blend)
*Diffuse, apply over and under the bridge of your nose, and on your chest to relieve the “full feeling” that can happen
*Snorer in your bed? Apply one drop of Easy Air to the bottom of each foot and over the bridge of the nose and enjoy a peaceful sleep
*Diffuse with lavender and apply to bottoms of the feet for a restful sleep
*Inhale from cupped hands to ease the feelings of seasonal threats
*Rub two drops of Easy Air on your chest before working out or a long run to help open your airways for easy breathing
*Warm your feet in the winter by using a cloth bag filled with rice and warm it up. Add a few drops of Easy Air to create a soothing atmosphere while opening your airways
*Place a drop of Easy Air in your palms, rub your hands together and take a few deep breaths while you’re stuck at work. Open airways help to improve your concentration
*Make a steam tent in your shower by closing the curtain and letting the hot water run. Place a few drops of Easy Air around the ledge of your tub and let the aroma and steam loosen your chest and nose

ZenGest (Digestion Blend)
*Apply over abdomen to relieve digestive discomfort
*Perfect for the road trip companion who gets queasy. Inhale from cupped hands, apply under nose or drink 1-2 drops in 8oz of water to settle your stomach
*Stop the bathroom trips when you have visited it one too many times in the last hour. Use one drop of ZenGest and one drop of Peppermint and rub over abdomen to settle things down
*This oil is a dual purpose! Apply over abdomen when you HAVEN’T been able to go to the washroom all day
*Rub on your stomach after eating too much at family dinner to help digest all of the yummy food you just consumed
*Use 1-2 drops in 4oz of water to use as a mouth rinse if you have eaten a dinner with strong smells (I’m looking at you onions and garlic)
*Take this oil on all of your vacations! Nothing is worse than eating food you may not be used to and having bathroom time instead of pool time
*Apply to pulse points, chest and abdomen to help ease the queasy feeling that comes with being pregnant. Babies are cute, but looking at the inside of your toilet for nine months isn’t.
*Use 1 drop of ZenGest with 2-3 drops of FCO and apply to your navel (yup, your belly button) and over the bridge of your nose to support clear breathing
