I usually spend a day every spring cleaning my oven. I do this so I can open all of the windows on my main floor to air out the stench from the oven cleaner.
Well, this past winter seemed to go on forever and I didn’t want to wait anymore. Luckily, I came across this recipe and fine tuned it for my needs.
I no longer have to waste a beautiful day sitting inside cleaning my oven. It will now be done in the thick of winter, thanks to this very easy, and very non-toxic recipe!
I used:
*1.5 cups of baking soda
*3 capfuls of the On Guard Concentrate Cleaner (you can buy it here)
*Medium size squirt of Castile soap
*10 drops Lemon Essential Oil (buy it here)
I stirred it into a paste similar to thick pancake batter, you may need to use more or less Castile soap to get the right consistency, and I spread it all over my oven using a silicone spatula.
I closed the oven up, mostly so my dog wouldn’t lick it all away, and left it alone for about 45 minutes. I should mention that I didn’t turn my oven on at all in this process.
When I came back to it, I got a small piece of steel wool, and my adorable little helper and I lightly scrubbed in circles. There was very little effort needed to scrub, and then we just wiped it all down with a damp cloth a few times!
